The Redesigned Whop Marketplace: Bigger, Better, and More Discoverable!

Marketplace

The Whop Marketplace, reimagined

After months of crafting, designing, and deliberation, we are ready to release the next iteration of digital marketplaces.

Infinitely discoverable

When we set out to redesign the shopping experience on Whop, we needed to ensure our visitors knew exactly what we had to offer and what your product brings to the table. With this thought in mind, we focused on making our brand new marketplace as discoverable as possible. To execute on this goal, we:

  • Defined eight categories which most products can associate with
  • Ability to filter by subcategories, prices, reviews, what's included, and more.
  • Improved sorting of top charts, top trending, top free trials, and top-rated sections

Live stats, live sales feed, live everything...

A key aspect of any marketplace is winning and improving buyer confidence. A marketplace's job is to provide a seamless, trustworthy experience for the buyer so all they have to worry about is finding a product that fits them. With our most important statistics front and center on the home page, consumers can rest assured that their purchase is safe and secure on Whop. We also feature a marquee recent activity section so that when your sales get hot, everyone will be sure to notice.

Optimized at every level

With loads of traffic hitting whop.com 24/7, every square inch of the site needs to be built to perfection. Pages across the site load in record time, and results are returned nearly instantaneously, leading to a frustration-free browsing experience. We took a mobile-first approach so that we can leverage those late night scrolls and daily commutes into conversions.

Fixes & Improvements

  • Added a way to send test webhooks from the developer page. You can see exactly what the payloads look like and the response we got from your server. This is essential to setting up webhooks for your app
  • Fixed a bug with the apple "share" link for your product page
  • Launched a new ETH contract for all one-time ETH payments. This will significantly lower the amount of customer errors we saw with our V1 ETH contract. In addition, all payouts will now go directly to your business wallet
  • Strengthened our criteria to be on the marketplace. All new pages must have at least one review, a company description, and a paid product
  • Added a brand new way to create promo codes with a stunning UI. You can now create unlimited use promo codes too
  • Added an additional message above ETH checkout to tell the customer to confirm the transaction in their wallet
  • Added handling for Discord rate limits telling your customers to try again if they can't claim roles
  • After checkout, if you have a redirect URL, it will open in the same tab now. This significantly helps the flow of users coming back to your site after purchase. In addition, they can now come with an OAuth code directly so they can be logged in right away. This feature is in beta, so reach out if you want to try :)
  • Added the ability to set permissions on API keys. This means you can select which endpoints each API key has access to. This will allow all you folks using API V1 validate license endpoint to upgrade to V2!
  • Fixed a bug with completing transfers of ETH memberships
  • Fixed a bug with displaying the "total after trial" at checkout
  • Fixed a bug with Discord webhooks not being received after raffles are over
  • Fixed a UI bug on the customer slideout with the reviews section
  • Fixed a UI bug with the Discord cancel action on dark mode
  • Fixed a UI bug with the marketplace approval banner on mobile
  • Fixed various UI bugs with the Dash homepage on mobile
  • Fixed a UI bug with the product page overflowing on mobile if you have lots of perks
  • Fixed a bug with the date on logs not showing in MM/DD/YYYY format (sorry, European folks)
  • Fixed a UI bug for when you want to add multiple software but can't scroll
  • Cleaned up links around the Dash to point to our proper, new documentation
  • Fixed a bug with toggling on developer mode in the Dash
  • You can now see what events each webhook is subscribed to when hovering on your webhook events on the developer page
  • Fixed a bug on the hub where customers couldn't download their files if there were a bunch
  • Fixed a bug with uploading custom refund cancellation policies for the dispute fighter
  • Fixed a visual error with promo codes showing only $ currency
  • After API keys are generated, they will not be shown again
  • Rewrote some of our user logs so they make more sense to you :)
  • Fixed a UI bug when using advanced filters for the customer page and the pricing options were overflowing
  • Cleaned up the Dash sidebar on mobile to remove unnecessary spacing
  • Rewrote several error messages on the Dash to be more intuitive so you know how to fix them
  • Removed the requirement for the Whop Bot to be in the Discord Server for when you want to require potential customers to be in a specific server
  • Fixed a bug with users getting sent to a 404 when leaving an out-of-stock checkout page
  • Improved product page SEO (again)
  • Fixed a bug with the update product endpoint on the API
